South Park Shocks Fans with New Special: Cartman's Desperate Battle Against Obesity

Updated: May 29, 2024

South Park Shocks Fans Since their animated comedy series debuted on Comedy Central in August 1997, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have masterfully satirized society's absurdities. Now, after 330 episodes, they're set to debut the latest exclusive streaming event, "The End of Obesity."

South Park's official X account teases the new special with the announcement: "The advent of new weight loss drugs has a huge impact on everyone in South Park. When Cartman is denied access to the life-changing medicine, the kids jump into action."

In the teaser trailer, Eric Cartman consults a doctor about his obesity. The doctor suggests, "It's time for some drastic measures to bring down his weight," and mentions Semaglutides, including drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro. However, Cartman is denied access to these medications and turns to his friends Kyle, Stan, Butters, and Kenny for help.

Kyle warns that these drugs "could be dangerous," but Cartman predictably disregards the caution, exclaiming, "Let's do it!" Meanwhile, Butters reflects on their journey through the American healthcare system, saying, "We've been out navigating the American healthcare system ... and I almost died."

"The End of Obesity" follows a series of six other streaming events: "South Park: Post COVID," "South Park: Post COVID: The Return of COVID," "South Park: The Streaming Wars," "South Park: The Streaming Wars Part 2," "South Park: Joining the Panderverse," and the recently released "South Park (Not Suitable For Children)."

Get ready for another hilarious and thought-provoking adventure in the ever-evolving town of South Park!
